Bill Long

William James Long (also known as Bill, Billy, BillLong.com and Sherpa Bill) works in outside sales in Dallas, Texas. He's an American who spent most of his childhood in Brazil before finishing high school in New England and later graduating from the University of Oklahoma. An earthroamer since birth, Bill has spent time in Brasil, Venezuela, Mexico, Barbados, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, France, Belize and Guatemala. Additionally, he has traveled in 42 of America's 50 states. His most recent jaunt was a little closer to home: San Antonio, Texas.

"Cities are nice with their regional flavors, but the real beauty and excitement is far from the hustle and bustle of modern living.  I've been to all but 8 states and hope to see them all, especially our national parks," Bill commented in a recent e-mail.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT BILL

What was the last book you read? Or what are you reading now?

I finished reading "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki.  My problem is I can rarely finish a book and always have about four stacked by the bed.  I have no problem getting through fiction novels.  The next novel I will read is "Under the Banner of Heaven", John Krakauer.

What is your favorite book? Or favorite author?

My favorite book will always be "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien.  This book was the fire-starter that prodded my reading efforts when I was thirteen years old.  My favorite author is Clive Cussler.  His stories are a mix of James Bond meets Indiana Jones and allow me to escape in his world.

What is your favorite movie?

Strange Brew

What's the coolest place you have ever been?

The Actun Tunichil Muchnal Cave in the Tapir Mountain Reserve, River District, Belize.  1,400 year old Mayan sacrificial remains were frozen in time deep inside a dark and mystical limestone cave under a mountain.
