Your methods for travel
planning depend highly on your comfort level with travel. And even if you
are a seasoned earthroamer, sometimes its just nice to relax and leave the
details to someone else!
SEASONED EARTHROAMERS
Have you traveled quite a lot? Are you comfortable establishing your own
itinerary, renting a car, downloading a map and finding your own way? If so, you
probably book your travel on-line... Yahoo!
Travel is comprehensive and is the best one-stop-shop for finding the
cheapest on-line flights, rental cars and hotels. Sometimes I comparison shop
on Travelocity
and Travel Zoo. All
the major airlines offer flight bookings on-line and usually offer you the
option of booking rental cars and hotels as well.
SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN
Not sure whether you're
a seasoned earthroamer or a budding earthroamer? Then shoot for the middle...
Try one of the adventure vacations offered on www.ecotravel.com
or take a slightly dangerous but well organized adventure vacation with National
Geographic's iExplore.
BUDDING EARTHROAMERS
If you haven't traveled much or don't relish the idea of renting a car in
Bavaria and hopping on the autobahn, then perhaps you should consider a packaged
vacation where someone else has confirmed the details and you can relax and
enjoy a tour guide with a pre-planned itinerary. The best way to book a
packaged deal is to consult a travel agent or book directly with a
vacation or cruise line. Stick with reputable travel agents in your community,
or if you book on-line, go with a big, recognized company. The name Disney may
conjure images of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, but in fact Disney
Destinations offers a broad selection of first rate cruises and resorts
worldwide and has a reputation for consistently providing their guests with
superior service.
